“Every year our national, state, county, and the local union has a process to honor outstanding Educational Support Professionals for ESP of the Year. The process is simple. Nominate an ESP using the form on the NJEA website. This year, The Paterson Education Association would like to congratulate CHARLES WILSON III on his selection as the Educational Support Professional (ESP) of the year for the 2017-2018 school year. As such, Charles’ selection shall now represent the PATERSON EDUCATION ASSOCIATION AND ALSO PASSAIC COUNTY EDUCATION ASSOCIATIONS (PCEA).
Through the encouragement of his Union Mentor Angela Crocket-Coxen, Charles immediately became an active member of the Paterson Education Association. In 2001, Charles became a building delegate, thus beginning his work as a Public Education Advocate.
Charles is an active member of the Paterson Education Association. He has served on the Executive Board of the Paterson Education Association as chair of the ESP Committee. Presently, he serves on numerous committees:
- PEA’s Government Relations Committee
- PEA’s Health & Safety Committee
- PEA’s Committee on Special Education
- PEA’s ESP Committee
- PEA’s Building Representative
- Delegate to the NEA Representative Assembly
- Past Chair of the Local Election Committee.
Charles encourages his colleagues to be the best that they can be. He lives by the mantra: “Remember to Care, to love, to be loyal, and to commit to your profession.” He encourages all of the students that he services to work hard, and to never give up.”On behalf of the Paterson Education Association, we would like to again congratulate Charles on his selection.
